Singing Receptionist is at it Again with a Back-to-School Song
Regina Ballard never imagined she would get famous from her job as a school receptionist.
Only she did. Earlier this year, on the last twenty-four hours of school for staff at Due north Lincoln High Schoolhouse in Lincolnton, North Carolina, she belted out a soulful, stunning rendition of the Etta James' classic, "At Last." Regina had changed the words to be about summer pause. She recorded it on her phone and casually posted it on Facebook. Then what happened adjacent was a scrap magical.
"I didn't really expect anyone to share information technology," Regina says. "Only information technology took off like crazy. I didn't actually understand what was going on at first. My daughter kept calling me to give me an update on how many views it was at. She said, 'Mom, it's a large deal.'"

Views Grew into the Millions
Regina didn't think too much of the growing number of views for her video. She had really just washed the video to bear witness to her daughters that she went through with her programme to sing over the intercom. Besides, she was packing and planning for a family vacation, scheduled to begin the side by side day.
The side by side few weeks, Regina was inundated with photo calls, media requests, and thousands of Facebook letters. All in all, with the different outlets, her video was viewed more than than 20 million times.
"Information technology was beyond anything I could've imagined," she says. "I'thousand just happy I could bring smiles to and so many faces."
Regina has been singing nearly all her life. Her family is very musically talented. She sings in her church choir, and she insists that her girl'due south talent far exceeds her own.

Staying on the Chore
Even with all the success, Regina doesn't programme on quitting her job anytime presently. She'south been at the Lincoln Canton School district for 18 years, and she loves working in education.
"The person in the front part sets the tone for the school," Regina says. "If you're friendly and helpful, you can get people to where they demand to be sooner. Y'all can likewise but brighten up someone'southward twenty-four hours. It gives me an opportunity to encourage and support."
Regina loves being part of the school community, and so to kick things off for this school twelvemonth, she decided to put her songwriting skills to the test over again and write a song called "The Best Year Yet."
New Year, New Song
Regina sang her new vocal on the first day of school to students in the auditorium. She thought it would be a fun way to welcome the kids back and ready a positive tone for the twelvemonth.
